History of Silver Spirit SpectrumDespite the fact that this site is newly opened, it is far from new. Back in 1998, when I was VERY young, a friend introduced me to a cartoon newly released for kids... Sailor Moon. I was instantly hooked and it's still very dear to my heart. Once my parents allowed me online *cough*, I found an online community of Sailor Moon lovers, many of whom I still know today. Then, I finally found it; Otaku Senshi. It came along with such thrills and friends to love that for years, it was all I was about. This was the time I created Sailor Silver Dragon. Its hard to remember how exactly she came about. For some reason, I feel like my mother bought me socks with silver dragons on them... but regardless, she was my creation. I began drawing her, writing her a story, making her a home. I made many friends there in the ancient beginnings of the Otaku community, some names still around and others honorable bowed out. You might remember: Sailor Orion, Sailor Starfyre, Sailor Astera, Sailor Pandora, Sailor Sirius... goddesses in their own right. And Sailor Silver Dragon was there too, shining my own light on the community. Well, things come and go, and on December 23, 2002, I closed Silver Spirit Spectrum on a permanent hiatus. I didn't know if I would ever feel enough to bring her back, but I never forgot her. She sat dormant in the back of my mind for years. Waiting for her time to shine again. :) Last fall, almost like a rekindled relationship, I begin to think on her again; how much she accomplished and how important she was to me. And that flame began to grow until finally, in March of 2009, SEVEN YEARS LATER, I decided: it was time to bring back Sailor Silver Dragon. So here I am today! With a huge website chronicling Silver Dragon's past and present. And I'm extremely happy. This wasn't necessarily a project for anyone else, but for me personally. Its my own littler treasure trove, and it will always be close to my heart. Thank you for taking the time to read all this. I love you all. |
